Hello Everyone! Today we have our longtime friends from 15 and Meowing ready for an interview!
I would love to know why you started blogging?
I wanted to help dispel the myth of “the crazy cat lady”. I have a husband, I did not adopt cats out of loneliness. I also wanted to share the knowledge I have acquired from having so many cats for so many years.
How many little ones do you have in your household right now, and what are their names?
We currently have 12 cats. Tallulah, Polar Bear, Noel, Millie, Penny, Jinx, KaTwo, Sammy, Joanie, Prancie, Brody and Emmy.
Do all of your little ones get along?
Unfortunately, no. We have “zones” in the house where the ones that get along are together.
How did you introduce your little ones?
We keep the newbie separated in a room for at least a week. During that time, we swap scents by moving the blankets around so they can adapt to each others’ smells. Then we do supervised visits until we are sure there won’t be a problem. It is quicker with some cats, than others.
Having a multi-pet household can be stressful, what is the best advice you can give to someone thinking of adopting multiple furballs?
Feliway plug-ins and spray as well as calming collars. They go a long way at helping keep the peace. The benefits of having several pets outweigh the cons. I would tell anyone thinking of having more than one pet to make sure they can afford it. Veterinary costs are outrageous when something catastrophic comes up
What is the most challenging thing for you as a pet parent?
Making sure everyone gets enough attention and proper vet care.
What is your favourite thing about the pet community?.
It is like having another family. I love how supportive we all are of one another, especially when a pet is sick or there is a loss.
There are a number of folks who don’t like pets, how would you convince them that having pets is actually a huge positive in households?
I usually avoid folks that don’t like pets. 🙂 I think lot of people that didn’t grow up with them will never understand the connection and unconditional love.
What are your little one’s favourite toys?
All my cats love the wand toy, “da bird“. Several like chasing the laser and they all like the crocheted catnip toys that I make with the catnip we grow ourselves.
When not with you, where can we find your little ones?
On their custom made bunk bed or our bed. They also like the couch and chairs in the living room and any sunpuddle they can find.
Would you adopt another pet, and if so what kind?
I will always adopt cats. I have always wanted a tortoise.
What can our readers expect to see on your blog?
We join a lot of hops in the blogging world including selfies, art, poetry, etc We also host a hop called Friendly Fill-ins with our friend Annie of McGuffy’s Reader. We have at least one pet product review per month and several giveaways. I also try to give my cats a voice to write and mix some humor in too.
You have a number of different styles of posts on your site, what are your favourite to write?
My favorites are when the cats write about me. I like trying to imagine what they are thinking of their odd mom.
What is some advice you wish you got before adopting little ones?
I can’t think of any because I have had pets my entire life. Although, I never had a cat until I was married so I was missing out.
15 and Meowing is a favorite cat blog; so nice to read their interview!

I love this interview! The questions and answers are so insightful and interesting! I love especially #1, how/why you started blogging, to share your knowledge/love with others. Also, the art of introducing new kitties and the biggest challenges.
Glad you liked the questions! 🙂
Delightful! I have friends who never grew up with pets in the house but have them now. And they wouldn’t have it any other way. ~grin~ Best wishes to all!

Ms. Ellen is absolutely right about being sure you can afford your pets before you adopt them, especially veterinary care. It’s so sad when we get pets dropped at the shelter because their owners simply cannot afford to pay for their care.
Absolutely! I’m glad I waited to get a kitty, because he ended up becoming a very expensive kitty when we found out he had previous health problems. But I’m glad we rescued him because he wouldn’t have made it in the wild 🙁
Ellen and her babies is a daily stop for me. I loved learning more about her and her babies. Some great tips too.
Have a purrfect day. ♥
SO glad to hear they’re a daily stop! They are for me too!
Such a wonderful interview from one of our favorite cat blogs!
So glad you popped on by! 🙂 <3
Gremmie sure gets around… haha! Thoroughly enjoyed this interview with 15andmeowing. Love to read it every day. Ellen has a wonderful sense of funny and the cats have inherited her humor. They make me smile in the morning! Wonderfully fun collage of her Crew of Cats!
Agreed! <3
