At the time of this being posted the procedure has a 50-50 success rate and while many cats live long and healthy lives after the proceedure, not all of them are lucky and experience fairly severe complications.
We are Supawcute want to extend our deepest condolences to Michelle and her family as losing a loved one is by far one of the most difficult experiences to have.
The following is a memento/memorial Michelle has prepared about her cat Salem Church.
Salem Church was a blue Russian Siamese. I’ve had him ever since he was 6 weeks old. My sister gave him to me.
In the third week of December he got blocked in his Uretha three different times. When he became blocked the third the vet told me that they could do a PU procedure and he’d never get blocked again, but that wasn’t true at all and I don’t understand why I was given false hope.
On February 25th 2019 I had no choice but to put him down because he became blocked again and they couldn’t get him unblocked again.
I would like to tell to share a bit about him, he was a very sweet boy and he loved sitting in the window watching the birds & the world going bye. He loved escaping outside and me chasing after him.
When he decided it was time to get his Lovings he would get it no matter if it’s 3:30 in the morning cause if he’s meowing and running against my hand didn’t wake me, he’d slap me in the head to wake me… No claws extended thank goodness.
He even loved dogs… Especially my Nola, he’d rub his head all over her to show his affection but she’d just growl… Oh those was good times.
I remember the night I brought him home from my sister’s and I had to hold him with one hand and drive with the other. I had him sitting right beside me petting him but he would just meow out and to completely calm him, I had to be holding him. I only had him four short years and wished I had more… But those was the best four years I had and I will forever miss him dearly.
Thank you Johnny for publishing this for me… Means the world to me! I was always told when it comes to animals that you want for a pet, either treat them like family or don’t get them and Salem Church was my fur baby, my sweet blue son 💓
